Darrel Jinks

Deacon Darrel Jinks was born July 24th 1965 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Rev. Ronald Jinks Sr. and Fredricka Jinks. Deacon Darrel Jinks was the middle son of Reverend Ronald Jinks Sr and Fredricka Jinks, who have preceded him in death.

He attended Mt. Healthy High School class of 1983, where he was an avid athlete, Darrel wrestled, played football and ran track.

Deacon Darrel Jinks was united in holy matrimony to Debra Williams in 1986, and was married for over 30 years. They have one child, Latisha Spurlock.

Darrel was employed with the City of Silverton for over 20 years where he grew his love for landscaping and therefore soon after started his own business Perfect Cut LLC of which he owned and operated for a few years. God led him to work in the hospital industry and his last role was supervisor for Tri-Health environmental services. 

Darrel joined and was baptized at Bright Star Baptist Church as a young child and served as a deacon for many years while holding a role as Choir director. Darrel served on the deacon board, he lead the street ministry, where he evangelized to young men living in the West End of Cincinnati, Ohio. Darrel was a true missionary and you could often find him visiting and praying for the sick and shut in. Darrel was very passionate about his worship and walk with Christ. 

Darrel loved his family and his “crew” dearly. Darrel had this ability to truly connect with people. Darrel’s family expanded past blood and he has a host of extended sisters, brothers, daughters (Jennifer Riggins, Marie Lawson and Monique Johnson) and granddaughters Ravyne Acoff and Raegan Pettijohn, whom he held dearly to his heart . 

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Debra Jinks; one daughter, Latisha Spurlock (Nicholas); two brothers and a sister, Ronald (Danyel), Arthur (Sabrina), and Fredricka Alexander; sisters-in law, Diane Lawrence (Roy) and Tricia Bowman and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Darrel at the age of 55, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 in Montgomery, Ohio.  

Visitation is from 9:30 am until 10:30 am on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at the Bright Star Community Church, 809 Charlotte Street, Cincinnati  (45214).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 10:30 am. Everyone attending must wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.

In keeping with the Covid-19 Pandemic restrictions masks are required in order to enter  the service and social distancing must be practiced.  Please be prepared to comply for the safety of all.
