Deborah Ann Linder

Deborah Ann Linder was born June 23, 1950, to James and Geneva Linder in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She was the fifth of nine children:  Geraldine (Deanie), James Jr. (Sonny), Ronald (Ducky), Janice, Marilyn (Vicki),  Joseph, Thomas (Tony), and Dale. 

Deborah was educated in the Cincinnati Public Schools, attending South Avondale Elementary, Samuel Ach Junior High and graduating from Woodward High School in 1968.  She continued her education by graduating from the University of Cincinnati, College of Business Administration with a degree in Accounting.  She worked for over 25 years for the State of Ohio, Unemployment Office, in the Compliance Department (small business audits).  She retired in 2005.

Deborah was the proud mother of a son, Damon Richard Linder.  She had five amazing grandsons; Jairemy (Viridiana), D’Maris (McKenna), De’Aries, Johnathan, Dalin, and Quamari (granddaughter of her heart).  Deborah was a hands-on grandmother.  When the children were young, she would have them almost every weekend.  She loved being a grandmother!

During Deborah’s retirement, she was an active member of the Neighborhood Patrol at District 4.  She enjoyed the fellowship and the focus of this group, making a safer Bond Hill. 

She also, worked for DRC (grading State Achievement tests).  She was a very creative person with varied interests!   She played the guitar and violin.  (In Junior High and High School, she sat 1st Chair in the orchestra.)   She even taught Damon how to play the violin! 

Deborah loved the Arts.  She enjoyed attending the Symphony, Opera, Ballet, the Broadway Series, and Playhouse in the Park.  She loved to sew and knit, keeping Damon in hats and gloves during his youth.  She loved to bake bread and was known for her rolls, homemade pizza, and pretzels.  She was an avid reader, sharing this trait with her siblings.

Deborah departed this life suddenly at the age of 71 on July 20, 2021.   She was preceded in death by her parents James and Geneva Linder, her siblings, Geraldine Linder Stern, James A. Linder Jr., Ronald Linder, and Marilyn V. Linder.

The gathering is from 2:00 pm until 2:30 pm on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at the Walker Funeral Home, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati, 45206.  The memorial service will immediately follow the gathering beginning at 2:30 pm.

In keeping with CDC Covid19 Guidelines, we encourage those not fully vaccinated to wear masks.
