De'Angelo Raymont Amison, Sr. "Ray" was born to Carolyn Brooks Amison and Elbert Amison Sr. on  January 17,1971, in Cincinnati, Ohio. 

Ray graduated from Robert A. Taft High School where he was a member of the band and played the drums. During his senior year, Ray took the police exam because he had a passion to protect people. He went on to fulfill this dream by protecting his wife and children.

Ray was an outgoing man and a wonderful dad of five. His children meant everything to him. He did whatever it took to make them happy and to keep them safe. Ray enjoyed watching cooking shows and making great meals, traveling and having the best laughs with his family.  Although he faced many challenges throughout his life, he was very resilient and never gave up. 

Ray was preceded in death by: his mother, Carolyn Amison; his father, Elbert Amison; his sister, LaTanya Amison; his brother, Elbert Amison; his aunts,  Betty Amison (Ainsley) and Frieda Curtis; his uncles, Richard Lee Brooks, Perry Amison and Paul Edward Brooks 

De'Angelo Raymont Amison Sr '’Ray’’, age 49, passed away on Wednesday July 8, 2020.

Ray is survived by: his wife, Littia; his siblings, Richard (Margaret) Amison, LaTisha Amison, Elbert (E) Amison, Katie Smith and Terresha Hogan; his five children, Tyra Adams, Tiairra Amison, De'Angelo Amison Jr, Keira Amison and Antonia Conyers; his grandchildren, Manolo Gaines, Ka’Oir Amison, Amarion Amison, Mi’Ava Williams and De'Angelo Amison III; his aunts, Dannie Amison (William), Johnnie Amison, Martha Amison (Owensby), Doreen Amison, Darlene Amison (Gaines), Flora Amison, Angela Pearson, Priscilla Kelly, Regina Blunt, Von Ceil Brown and Donnie Dixon; his uncles, Leo Amison, Steve Crawford, Fountaine Brooks, Samuel Brooks and James Brooks, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends. 

Visitation is from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at the Walker Funeral Home-McMILLAN STREET CHAPEL, 1025 E. McMillan Street, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 3:00 pm.
