Cynthia Evans was born November 21, 1951 to the union of Charles and Valure Evans in Cincinnati, Ohio. Cynthia departed this earthy life on Sunday September 13, 2020. Cynthia grew up in Lincoln Heights, Ohio, where she attended Lincoln Heights Elementary. Cynthia graduated with the last class of Lincoln Heights High School in 1970.
On July 10, 1971 Cynthia married the love of her life, Joe Key. To this union four children were born: Jevonna, Joseph II, Janine, and Johnathan. In January 1981 Cynthia received the gift of the Holy Ghost under the late Bishop Eddie Lee Foster at The First Pentecostal Church of Blue Ash. Not long after, she was led by God to follow the late Pastor Connie Williams to begin the next chapter of her life at God's Way Tabernacle. A few years later God called her to preach the gospel. Cynthia loved the Lord with all her heart and served Him in any capacity that she could. From the Nurse's Guild to Sunday School Teacher, Missionary Board, and even driving the church van. She never complained, even as her health failed.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her husband Joe Key, father Charles Evans Sr., mother Valure Gibbs, sister Karen Whipple, and brother Kendall Evans.
Cynthia leaves to cherish her memories, her children: Jevonna (Climmie) Jones, Joseph (Cana) Key, Janine Key, and Johnathan Key; grandchildren: Climmie (Ayrriel), Sayanna, Christien, Louis, Layla, Camyah, Dallas, Joseph III, Cairo, and Essence great grandchild Noah; siblings: Sharon Evans, Cathy Dawkins (James), Charles (loving sister-in-law Genie) Evans II. The entire Key family, a host of cousins, nieces nephews and friends.
Visitation is from 9:30 am until 11:00 am on Monday, September 28, 2020 at the Gods Way Apostolic Church, 8366 Blue Ash Road , Cincinnati (45236). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Everyone attending must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Interment will follow at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio 45428.
In keeping with the Covid-19 Pandemic restrictions masks are required in order to enter the service and social distancing must be practiced. Please be prepared to comply for the safety of all.
